Four humans slept in a state of suspended animation, extended sleep as the Kryloneans called the state. Don Whitford, his wife Tatyana, Jennifer Walker, and Yasuhiro Suzuki were those human, traveling in their tiny craft as it sped through the void between star systems at 118 times faster than the speed of light. Their speed was so fast that they really weren’t physically part of the universe; perhaps one could say that they had merged with it. They were four of the remaining eleven humans who knew Earth as she once was, populated with billions of people; now, only twenty-five hundred remained. The android, Androov, assigned the four the mission to discover the fate of Krylon. If she didn’t exist as Androov feared, then they were to search the colonies for survivors. So far, Androov hadn’t followed his original programming of being tasked to abduct two people… a man and a woman; they were to unite the refugees of Earth’s lost past. Yet, the android was given programming that went beyond anything provided to even the most sophisticated androids of the day, the Series Six—the ability to reason and make choices. He selected six additional people… two joined the original two as members of the craft’s crew while the remaining four carried out the original assignment.Androov’s plan was functioning well, yet three additional humans from the past waited to be awakened. They weren’t like any of the previous eight humans, except for Jennifer. She and they were selected on the belief that they were destined to survive the Earth’s eventual depopulation because they each possessed undisclosed, redeeming qualities. Jennifer and final three human knew each other; they were her mother and father, and her younger sister. Yasuhiro Suzuki upset Androov’s original plan by joining the crew of the vinta with Jennifer, but the android added the Devens family long before he knew of the change; he couldn’t justify their abduction until the sole craft departed. The remaining four humans welcomed the newest members of their team on blind faith, but soon learned that he’d made a wise choice. Jennifer missed seeing her family by only two years, but Androov woke them late on purpose. Perhaps, Jennifer’s prophesy was tied to her need to join the crew on that craft that might never return. Or possibly, it might never be fulfilled, in light of the eminent destruction of the planet that the four believed would be their future home.Artemis and the other Olympians also survived the cataclysm, but they believed that Randall and Denise perished with the rest of the world. Randall and Denise temporarily forgot about them as the thrill of discovering the underground cities, and working at an amazing task became foremost in their lives. Once the task was complete, they made the discovering the truth concerning their old friends, the Olympians who remained on Earth, the ancient gods, their next task. The truth came easy, leading many on an adventure that they never imagined, one in which the Olympians existence hinged upon their success. If all that wasn’t enough, the four Terrans discovered three surviving Krylonean colonies—and two starships! Adventures are abundant, new friends are discovered with each adventure, new and old technology is discovered in the most unlikely places, perils are many, deaths even more, but as always, the rewards are greater than the losses. The question is, can three struggling civilizations with little in common come together for their common good, overcome impossible odds, and help the people who need their assistance the most—each one of the civilizations?
