Knitted Scarves for the Adventurous Knitter (FiberFrau Series Book 2) (English Edition) [Kindle-editie]

Welcome to Book 2 of the FiberFrau Series of patterns. Once again FiberFrau presents scarf designs for hand knitting. One scarf features ribbed shaping at the neck and duplicate stitch embroidery. Another offers surface texture, while the third plays with multiple strands and color changes. Two of the three scarves are inspired by the novel, Divergent, by Veronica Roth. A third was inspired by The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins. I hope you will take these designs, use them, enjoy them, and adapt them to your own tastes. Scarves are ideal projects for gift giving and charity knitting, since they always fit! They are very forgiving projects when you are learning new skills, too. Some of the scarves in this book require more advanced skills than those in Book 1 (Knitted Scarves for Everyone.) The following basic knitting skills are assumed: knit, purl, cast on, cast off, and change colors at the beginning of a row. Each of these designs also includes something special: duplicate stitch embroidery, ribbing, and/or seed stitch. Kimberly Schimmel graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina Central University with a Master of Library Science degree and serves as librarian at her church. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. The efficiency techniques she learned in engineering school get applied to her needlework projects.
