Welcome to Book 3 of the FiberFrau Series of patterns. In this book FiberFrau presents four cowl designs for hand knitting. My hope is that you will use these designs, enjoy them, and adapt them to your own style. The styles include: A peacock green lace cowl was inspired by the elves in J.R.R. Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings. A cowl design in seed stitch includes the main colors from the four houses at Hogwarts, from the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. A super-warm cowl knit in a tube for 2-layered warmth is next. Finally, another cowl design knit in the round with stripes. Cowls make great gifts, since they always fit! They are very forgiving projects when you are learning new skills, too. Needle size and stitch gauge are not as critical as they would be in a sweater or sock. If you like the look and feel of the knitted fabric you are creating, you are doing it right! I want you to own these designs by putting your personal touch on the projects you choose to knit. The colors can also be changed, of course.
