This is one of several Articles that Paul Romaine has written on Celebrity Singers and Songwriters. There are no negative comments about the artists that he writes about. The articles contain interesting information about the individual and Paul always tries to insert positive traits about the artist that are meritorious. Joe Cocker has a career that spans over five decades. He was born in Sheffield, England. He is on Rolling Stones 100 greatest singers list. His singing career really accelerated when he and the Grease Band performed at the Original Woodstock Festival in 1969. When he sang the song "With a Little Help from my Friends" at Woodstock the fans seemed to adopt it as their anthem. A song that became a mega-hit was one that he recorded with Jennifer Warnes. It was "Up Where We Belong" from the 1982 movie An Officer and a Gentleman. His 2008 album Hymn For My Soul has some good songs on it especially the "Hymn 4 My Soul track."
