Robert Denton, a young African-American flees the country in disgrace after a racially charged fight with one of his drill instructors at the Navy Seals qualifying school. Selling his talents as a mercenary he becomes a bodyguard for Middle Eastern “Diplomats”, who he later discovers are members of the New Dawn terrorist group. When Washington, DC is targeted, he tries to prevent the attack. However, the attack succeeds and he is captured at the scene. The government offers him a chance to redeem himself if he will assist in the pursuit of the terrorists who have escaped. He is given a partner, Andy Holdren and their investigation reveals a terrorist network operating within the United States which is harboring the New Dawn members. Ava Schmidt is a member of the ”New Dawn” who was left for dead after a home invasion occurred when she was a child. After acquiring the talents necessary to avoid being victimized a second time, her life is shaped by events that occur after saving an Arabic woman from a racial attack in London. Her life spirals out of control after the Washington, DC attack, forcing her to find a way to leave the New Dawn and end the pursuit of the United States government. ‘Ripples in the Pond’ is a story of bravery and honor, which are sometimes found in unlikely places; and that evil is not caused by race or nationality, but is frequently determined by your point of view.
