"Rena ni Toshite An American An Osaka Love Thief" is the tale of an interracial love affair that began three years before its persona traveled to Japan. With inspiration taken from Charles Bukowski, Gary Snyder and Yoshida Issui, the reader is guided with bold images of an affair that begins in America and continues when he travels to Japan. Meeting again was a coincidence. Rena's parents and the narrator live in the same town. Throughout the book, the reader travels from the United States, to Kantou to Kansai over three years.
