In 2011, I came into possession of several boxes of family documents that had belonged to my grandparents, Allen Miller and Zoa Hathaway (Townsend) Fletcher, Jr., of Ludlow, Vermont. Included among the documents were a number of property deeds, leases, estate records, and other legal documents, related to the family, dating back to 1837. Some of the documents are entirely hand-written, while others are hand-written on printed forms, and still others are entirely typed. I have transcribed the documents into this book, in chronological order, so that they may be made available to historians and genealogists. Documents without dates are located at the back of this book.I have preserved the spelling, capitalization, etc., from the original deeds, so far as possible. I have done my best to preserve the spacing and placement of the text in the documents. I have done my best to transcribe signatures correctly, but I acknowledge that some signatures may be misspelled due to poor legibility. I have represented signatures in italics.This book does not represent all legal documents related to my family; it is only those that have come to me from my grandparents by way of my father, Robert Daniel Fletcher.
