Professor Irving Inchworm was a happy worm. He had everything he needed—a sweet and helpful wife, a great teaching job at Smithville University, a lovely home in a good neighborhood, and a new MG. Despite such happiness, however, Irving dreamed of the day he would become a moth. He longed for bigger muscles, graceful wings, a fancier suit, even a moustache. Of course, he would have to be away from home when the time came. And there were no guarantees what changes there would be. It was best, then, not to tell his wife Irene until afterward. This he had to do alone. Will Irving get his wish? Or will he go from little green inchworm to a fat, drab moth?
