Wild bog plants are fun to collect and easy to grow in bog gardens, containers, and in the pond. They are free for the taking and usually do better than the commercial bog plants. Many of them are just as pleasing as the commercial bog plants that are offered for sale at high prices. Wild bog plants are acclimated to the climate, soil and water so usually do better. I have covered some of the types that we have here in Colorado and how to collect and grow them. All parts of the World have bog plants that haven't entered the bog plant market and probably never will. When you are walking along that favorite creek or lake, keep your eyes open, you may find a worthwhile bog plant. Hopefully this book will get you interested in collecting wild bog plants. The author has had over 30 years experience with water gardening. He is a Master Gardener and has been active in pond clubs and conducted pond classes for Master Gardeners at his home and for the general public at the Colorado State Fair.
