One thing it's not is funny.Asian Jokes takes about a half dozen well known and extremely offensive stereotypes about Asians and then turns each of those stereotypes into the same joke over and over again. About the only one that I can even begin to describe in a public review is "What do you call a Chinese man who ...?" The answer to the question inevitably is two or three short words that, in the author's mind, sound like a Chinese name. It's the type of joke that, minus the ethnic slur, might have once been funny to a seven-year-old, but even a seven-year-old would get tired of it after hearing it 20 to 30 times. That lame attempt at humor is simply the least offensive of Roos's jokes... others are far worse.To make it appear that this is an actual book of some length (and justify the ridiculous $2.99 price tag, which would be a ripoff even if the jokes were funny), Roos puts one joke, usually a question-and-answer, on a page, so the book contains a total of about 70 jokes (and a whole lot of blank space between them), none of which are funny. To make things worse, he seems to run out of jokes about two-thirds of the way through the book, so he fills the rest of the book with "humorous" posters featuring Asians. Apparently, to Roos, the sight of an Asian family or a group of Asians together in a photo is hilarious simply because of their facial features.I got this book for free as a promotion, so it least, it didn't take a bite out of my wallet. However, for most people, this book will be a drain on the wallet and a much bigger drain on their taste, their intelligence, and their sense of humor.
