HIDE AND SEEKWILLIAM WILKIE COLLINS [1824-1889] was a British writer of 27 novels, 15 plays, 50 short stories, and 100 non-fiction articles. While a law student, he published his first book, Memoirs of the Life of William Collins, Esq., R.A. (1848), about hs recently deceased father's life. He followed that with the publication of his first novel Antonina (1850). In 1851, a mutual friend introduced him to Charles Dickens. Collins and Dickens collaborated on many projects. Collins edited Dickens's Household Words. Dickens serialized some of Collins's novels in the weekly All the Year Round.
