I hope this book will help gifted children to get through some of the toughest problems and live happily while learning and discovering what direction in life will be their bliss. One of the first lesson to understand is this: Some gifted children seem to be able to pluck ideas out of the ether and others work extremely hard to make spectacular projects. Neither one is better than the other, but they are different. Maybe life would be much easier if teachers learned to pair the one who just comes up with the idea with the individual can bring the idea to a great project. I learned these lessons as I grew up a gifted child before they had problems for gifted children. In elementary school I spent most of the day in the school library where the librarians challenged me with new books and helped me find what I wanted to read. This was a lonely way to learn and one I can hope youngsters can avoid. Even as a small child I was able to live easily with several conflicting ideas, so if I did not understand what the teacher thought was the correct answer to a question, I was unable to spit out that idea.
