While Jerry and Amanda are away from the ranch on family business, Rafe Kincaid has kidnapped their only son, and members of his gang have killed the wife of Bear Who Walks Like Man, the son of Jerry's blood brother, Running Owl. The Arapaho, along with some visiting Sioux warriors, also friends of the Samson's, take the trail of the gang in an effort to rescue the child and avenge the death of Morning Dew. As Jerry and Amanda travel toward home with two new charges, previously unknown cousins of Amanda's, events are shaping up for major trouble in the Wind River country. Faced with incredible hostile odds in the form of renegade Apaches and white outlaws, the Arapaho send forth the "war arrow" in an effort to rally other friends of the Samson's and stamp out the evil scourge that has darkened the land. But, will Jerry's friends be in time to save his son? While the Indians are thus occupied, Ralph Bell rides alone to settle an old score and see that Rafe gets what he deserves.
