The Viet Nam War, the Gulf wars, and market collapses all appear as random events. But what if they’re not? What if there was a society of powerful people who conspired to create these events and profit from them? What if there was a group of people who care nothing for the average American and see them only as commodities to be used to further their goals, whatever that might be? Perhaps after the Viet Nam war, this group had done some homework, only to realize that it is easy to sell a war. It’s harder to keep it going when the body bags start coming back. To make things worse, the press is constantly bringing disturbing images into people’s homes through TV. The average American hears the news when driving to and from work. Something would have to be done about this. A plan was designed and implemented to take control of the media in order to manage the news. They sought out radio hosts who would toe the line and preach the message they wanted to give the public, instead of the real one. But there would be detractors who would see conspiracies; they would have media access on cable and lower-cost AM radio. They needed to ensure that these people weren’t credible, so they decided to feed them disinformation which made them look like kooks and idiots. This book is a fictional glimpse behind the scenes of the creation of the modern American conservative empire. It is both an adventure book and a story of intrigue that moves from subtle Machiavellian ploys to brutal assassinations. The book is filled with historical facts and background information which has been woven into a generous fictional landscape. It is humorous and clever, yet oddly disturbing.
