Gil is the iron-toting, undisputed King of Uruk. His rise to power is fast and violent, but he’s quickly bored by the lack of challenge. He grows cruel and complacent until a wild man from the desert arrives and puts his strength to the test. The Gilgamesh Epic is one of the oldest examples of literature, and an engaging story. The King of Uruk riffs off of the epic in a wild-west setting, while maintaining the larger-than-life—supernatural feel of the story.
