In old England, when the cruelty of the sheriff of Nottingham was met by the raw courage of a lone archer, the shire became a bloody battleground. And as a handful of men joined with the archer in his crusade against tyranny, the huge dark forest became a source of fear for the sheriff, and for others in authority who had misused that authority. The clash of iron wills moved the mortal enemies more and more toward clear lines of good and evil, and a final battle to decide the fate of the shire and of the men who fought for it.
