In a confusion of fact and fiction, a South Korean “chaos entrepreneur”, supported by a group of former Cheka terrorists and funded by a Russian Oligarch, sets out to pressurise California to leave the United States of America. Our main character and reluctant hero (who has a contentious surname and a confusing first name) becomes embroiled in a story that includes a massacre in an isolated pub on the north coast of Scotland; plotting in the exotic Flying Bird Tea Shop in Seoul; politics in the Palace of Westminster, California, Washington and Montreux; a gun battle on Lake Geneva - all against a true backcloth of the world failing to respond to some of the most testing challenges it has ever encountered.
