The Complete Adventures of Sir Fred includes five fantasy tales about a knight who begins in service of a King and later goes on his own adventures as a freelance, or knight for hire. Mingau's Bride is where the tales begin. The knight must rescue a princess from a magical troll with marital intent. The Beast of Troubadour Down is a lighthearted tale about Sir Fred's first adventure as a freelance. Our hero must battle a beast that regularly terrorizes a small village, but the knight can't do it alone. The Spirit of the Storm is a dark tale of superstition. Sir Fred is found on the outskirts of a small village after a severe autumn storm. The knight must overcome the villagers' fear that he is a dark spirit who is responsible for the town's misfortunes. The tale includes the reescue of two children from a dragon. The Wish Stone is not exactly an adventure of Sir Fred, but a quick tale about the meaning of happiness. You will discover how it relates to the other stories. And in Endsong, we finally find out how the storyteller knows so many adventures of Sir Fred. All tales are told in verse, after the fashion of minstrels of the middle ages
