"The Orphanage" is the second novel in the series. Ronald and Claire learn that "The weakest members of humanity are at the mercy of predatory adults. Often it's for profit and sex and slave labor and young boys are sent to war in their bare feet with weapons larger than they are. Not much is done to stop the problems associated with the mistreatment of children. Worldwide the problem is overwhelming. Over two million children are orphaned each year. And that's a poor estimate." Further estimates suggest many of those children end up in slavery. Ronald T. Barone Investigations will put a significant dent in that estimate.
