The Café allows you to sit at the table beside two young women in San Francisco whose recent past and immediate future is boiling over into one last tension-filled conversation at a coffeeshop. While the two have enjoyed a happy, at times serene, life together, this short story follows what happens when one member of a cracking relationship decides that it's time to get out, even if she can't yet articulate why.
