Can water be alive or dead – or good or evil? Eleven-year old Maddy and her twelve-year old brother Noel freak when they find an eyeball in an ice cube. Their friend Rudi finds enough body parts to make a water boy, Wattie. The pirate One-eyed Pete and a Voodoo-vampire librarian follow the children to the beach in hopes of stealing the treasure of The Seven Seas. The librarian is foiled and explodes in a puff of green smoke. Pete’s watery pirates battle Wattie’s soldiers until Maddy destroys them with dish detergent. Pete takes a hostage and gets the treasure, but his black heart makes it wither. Maddy saves the treasure by tearing Wattie’s pure heart from his chest and placing it in the treasure chest. Pete attacks the weakened Wattie, but the hot sun shrinks them until Maddy captures the toy-sized Pete by absorbing him in a towel. Maddy can’t flush Pete down the toilet – he’ll come back as rain and steal the treasure. So she bakes him into a batch of inedible cookies. Will One-eyed Pete be locked away forever? Fatty the cat is hungry. She stares at the cookies, licks her lips and flicks her tail.
