Texel Gloves - Individual Knitting Pattern (English Edition) [Kindle-editie]

TIP: If you like wearing gloves with fingers, but still want to use your touch screen, get some conductive thread and work a few stitches in and out at the tips of the finger to make a dot or star!Texel is an island in the North Sea and the stitch patterns of these gloves remind me of the waves of the sea. Knit them in sea and beach colours, as shown here, or make it a colourful, abstract pattern. Why not use up all those little leftover bits of wool to make each row of waves a different colour? The sizes are Women’s XS/S, Women’s M, Women’s L/Men’s S, Men’s M/L, for 17, 19, 20.5, 22.5cm (= 6⅝, 7⅜, 8⅛, 8⅞”) glove circumference above thumb, to fit hands of same size or larger. The stitch pattern stretches well to provide a good fit.Two options are given for the cuff: a pretty scallop cuff with a loose fit, and a practical, snug fitting ribbed cuff.To knit this pattern you will need:• Fingering weight yarn, such as Regia 4-ply: 100g (420m/460 yards) of main colour (in pictures the colour of the fingers), 50g (210m/230 yards) of second colour• 1 set (for ribbed cuff) or 2 sets (for scallop cuff) of 5 DPNs 2.25mm/US size 1 (or any other needles that can be used for knitting in the round)• Optional, for a more tapered shape of glove fingers: 1 set of 5 DPNs 2mm/US size 0 (or 0.25mm thinner than main needle size you use to get the correct tension)(Needle sizes given are for guidance only! For best results test tension.)
