Bob, the detachment corporal, is initially skeptical of her abilities, while Jamey, a local part-time musician and full-time prankster, causes trouble for her at every turn. Although attracted to each other, Laureen and Jamey are constantly at odds, due to their opposing views of the law in particular as well as society in general. As Lauren struggles to grow into her role as a cop, she discovers that she can also serve as a catalyst for bringing lasting change to the village.
