Before Microsoft, before computers, before television; back when gasoline powered chainsaws and diesel powered trucks were considered cutting edge technology, there was Redmond, Washington, a busy farming and logging community east of Seattle. While farmers greened the Redmond Valley loggers chopped their way through old growth forests and left a trail of huge stumps. Fires raged in the northwest in 1951, the driest year in half a century. State fire marshals closed the woods to Logging, the old ways were dying, and a few old time loggers hung around town to await the rain. This story tells how a few loggers killed time.
