STEVENS HERE The High Road to Mediocrity (English Edition) [Kindle-editie]

Stevens Here, was the way I answered my office phone for over 30 years. The book is an autobiography written essentially for family consumption so my children could get to know their father, something missing in my life. Not because my father wasn’t there ad a loving man but because he never talked about his family history. I did not want to repeat what I considered to be his mistake.I look at my life as a pleasant happy one not much different from the life of my middle class contemporaries, which included WW II and the Korean War. No heroics no monuments but only a life lived by always taking the high road. A myriad of unpleasant day-by-day details associated with the industrialization of universities and college politics savaged what was otherwise a perfect job—this created great internal conflict for me. As a result, I irrationally abandoned the perfect job and moved to Belize Central America. The university life and my place of refuge are two topics are the subjects of books available on Amazon Kindle; University Industrial Complex: Erosion of Undergraduate Education, which takes on the flavor of an exposé dealing with college. The second book, Belize: A Fascinating Place treats Belize as a refuge from stress. Finally, after another ten years at another university and a replay of events at the first university, Belize became my home. The autobiography taken together these two other books detailing a cultural upheaval in two universities, a conversion of a small fishing village on a Caribbean island to a tourist center, and finely the ushering of a mainland Mayan village in to modern time. Have a pleasant read about a life I enjoyed living.
