Looking into the future, this story takes place a considerable number of years after the Presidency of Barack Obama. It will project, in an entertaining way, where we could be by then, if current trends continue. It will describe another global economic crash, worse than the 2008 Great Recession, from new stimulus spending, in the face of insolvency by more inept governments. The account will dig into technical details and go deeply inside the particulars of some science and faith issues. It will even show an effort to put big government in its place, in order to recapture the personal freedoms our forefathers so feared we might loose. But, it will move into times of rapidly unfolding drama, as well as a little romance now and then. The story is told through the lives of ten widely differing people, who are all part of this leap into the future. The chronicle will tell how several of these individuals, without wanting to, encounter Christianity and why they embrace it, misunderstand it, or reject it.The narrative will show how the oil shortage of the 1970’s has returned, despite aggressive exploration and production in remote, inhospitable places. There will be a tour of the inner workings of a massive oil platform in the rough, stormy Arctic Sea. The story covers the startup of a photovoltaic power station, from the perspective of the project engineer overseeing it.These periods of drama will continue to the end of the story, as shortages of resources, geopolitical tensions, terrorism, and fateful military moves push the world right up to the doorstep of World War III. The future of our ten people will take an abrupt turn, but one won’t be ready.
