Blue Hills is a picturesque town and a great place to live all year long. Ally is happy spending her days with friends and family as she works on her successful blog. Always in search of new adventures, she does not hesitate to set off on the trail of a killer, after one of the authors invited to the town’s book fair becomes the principal suspect in the murder of his assistant. Even though everyone warns her to be careful, Ally is convinced that if she follows the clues she can track down the culprit. But she quickly realizes that the killer is one step ahead of her and this case could be dangerous—even deadly. Will she get the chance to unmask the murderer and write the end of the story? EXCERPT 1 “Okay. I’m willing to consider it. I’ll call you tomorrow morning,” I tell him finally. “Thank you,” he says, sounding relieved, and hands me his card before he leaves. “Ready for a little adventure …?” I ask Emma, who is not quite as enthusiastic as I am. “You’re completely crazy,” she accuses me. “Aren’t you curious to find out where this story might lead us?” “Not if it could get us killed.” “Oh, Emma, stop. We’re in our hometown, surrounded by friends and family. There’s someone we know around every corner; nothing’s going to happen to us.” “Don’t say that! You’ll jinx yourself!” she scolds me. “I hope you come to your senses by tomorrow,” she adds on her way out. EXCERPT 2 Danny’s voice makes me jump. “Please tell me you’re not here looking for clues about the murder—and especially that I didn’t just hear you talking about committing a crime.” “A crime …? I’m not going to kill anyone; I just want to get a door open,” I protest. “And what are you doing here, anyway?” I ask, while shooting an annoyed look at Emma. “Sorry, I didn’t get a chance to warn you.” “I was waiting for Riley at the bar. We’re meeting some friends for dinner and I spotted Emma.” I see Riley who has just walked in. She comes over to us, and as always, she’s strutting like she’s on a fashion runway. The mystery is solved in each book, however, it would be better to read then in order to enjoy some threads that run from book to book. 33000 WORDS - 110 PAGES ALSO IN THE SERIES: ONCE UPON A WINTER NIGHT COMING NEXT: ONCE UPON A SONG ONCE UPON A TRAIN
