This book tells the story of a farm boy from small-town South Dakota who was inspired to become a rock and roll performer after attending the iconic film Blackboard Jungle, and hearing the theme song, Rock Around the Clock, by Bill Haley and the Comets,. He decided to form his own rock and roll band, and the Caddies nearly made it to the top of the heap, traveling with Buddy Knox and Bobby Vee, and with the late Dick Clark Caravan of Stars. Clark, star of ABC television’s American Bandstand, and many other programs and events, best described Myron Lee, founder and leader of Myron Lee and the Caddies. “Talent, followed immediately by reliability. Myron has them both. He’s always had guys that can play. He is the epitome of reliability.” Myron and his Caddies recorded 13 songs and three albums, and for more than 15 years traveled the upper Midwest with forays into Canada and the East and West Coasts appearing with other entertainment greats at every stop. Myron Lee and the Caddies played in barns, dancehalls, taverns, high school gymnasiums, drafty hockey rinks, night clubs in communities large and small, and even in supermarket parking lots.
