Susannah Prentice was the step-daughter of Rupert Buckingham-Brown, the Earl of Edesbury. Society expected her to do no more than marry well and raise the next generation. As an intelligent and active young woman, Susie found this proposed future crushingly dull; she craved a bit of excitement. When she fled from the unwanted advances of a somewhat inebriated, and rather unpleasant young Viscount, she crossed the path of a trio very different men. For Flynn McConnell and his friends were Government agents and spy catchers. Susie became inadvertently embroiled in their operation and emerged injured and lacking any knowledge of the last ten years of her life. Flynn couldn’t help but feel responsible for her situation, and he and his friends undertook the task of finding her family, her home and hopefully her memory. In his line of work the very last thing he needed was a woman, but the longer she was with them, the harder it became for him to deny his feelings towards her.
