This book is the third and last in a series of three novels. It is the continuing story of Mick, a former Marine killing machine and Viet Nam veteran, who was mortally wounded by the explosion of a mine. On the operating table Mick experiences an NDE (near death experience) in which he has a vision of being transported to planet called Heaven. The experience changes his life. He uses his Martial Arts knowledge to start a school in his home town, after being released from the military with a Purple Heart and Medal of Honor. Not long after that he is hired by his uncle, Jack, who is working for the FBI, to infiltrate a religious cult to rescue the young daughter of a prominent oil tycoon. Finding her, and after getting her side of the story, he encounters hostile deprogrammers, hired by disgruntled parents. They kidnap their victims taking them to a hotel or motel and use brainwashing tactics and hostility to try to break the victim and get them to return to normal life with their parents. Mick has to fight these dangerous men off in order to protect his package, the daughter, from being kidnapped and subjected to the deprogramming ordeal, which leaves the victim totally exhausted both physically and mentally and traumatized as well. There are also a number of mysterious deaths he has to deal with within this cult that Mick investigates. His adventures take him abroad to different countries chasing the leaders who he suspects are somehow being controlled by the CIA and other secret organizations planning to overthrow the governments of the Philippines, Hong Kong, Spain and other European countries, setting up their own leadership. It is also a love story and the overcoming of insurmountable obstacles while walking the fine line of living a normal family life with high family values and availability to answer the many calls of distress. Mick Mancini FBI Agent III (Faction of Fear) Book III deals with the period more than twenty years after his first encounter with a religious cult. There is a murder-suicide that involves the leader of the group's son and nanny. There are mysterious disappearances within this cult that spark an investigation which exposes the involvement by secret organizations which reach top levels in the government of the U.S., China, and the U.S.S.R. The arms of these cults within cults are far reaching, with spies that even infiltrate Mick and his wife's own enterprises and organizations. Mick must dig deep to find that more cult members have been tortured and murdered. He faces many obstacles to uncover the source and solve the mystery that threatens the populations of the three super powers, and the future of the whole world, encountering hostile and lethal enemies that are both human... and non-human.
