I can still remember watching a television programme called ‘Tomorrow’s World’ as a young boy. It was all about technology and I was amazed at all the promises of a future working less and more time spent on leisure pursuits. Here I am a good thirty years later feeling immensely cheated. This vision never actually hit the target because, as far as I can see, we have just filled the gaps with more work. I don’t know about you, but as I get older making more effective use of time becomes more of a focus. I now see that I have spent a great deal of my time fighting just to get things done from a day to day point of view. Most of my adult working (and home) life has been about juggling time. Away from work I also go through the same the hurdles that we all have to get through and fit everything into our daily lives. Our individual approach to time might be different, however, the one thing we all have in common is that the time allocated to us is fixed. It is our own responsibility to make the most of that time while we have it.We all do battle each day from the moment we rise until we lay down at the end of the day. Tired, stressing out and chasing the clock. At work or at home there is always something to be done and you just know that inbox at work will never actually be empty. Your ‘Time” dragon is there to be slain and believe me, you are able to slay it, you just need the “White Steed” and weapons. So, in this review, you will find a 'how to' toolbox and practices to help you slay the Time Management dragon. I also wanted to record some of my own observations during the last few years. The first few chapters are mainly about Time Management theory. Covering what works and what does not. As always, I believe in practicing what I preach, so I can assure you that I have personally done all of the techniques in this book and find they work well. It also has to be said that these are not simply ideas but practical solutions gleaned from successful business men and women, from entrepreneurs and many people who manage their time successfully. I hope you enjoy this book and it is able to show you some useful tools on the road to slaying your particular Time Management dragon.Table of ContentsIntroduction * Understanding Time Management * Lets Get Organized * How Do You Handle Your Time Quads ? * You DO Know Where The Time Goes * Your Time Challenges At Work * Learning The Winning Time Management Techniques * The Top Eight Time Management Disciplines * Using Techniques and Tools in Practice * How Will You Adapt with Time ? * Routine Tasks - Some Key Hints & Tips * Conclusion
