Your home is your castle, your comfort zone. But your home may also hide many potential dangers. Like everything else in our lives we must train ourselves to be aware of the possible looming dangers around us. In other words, we have to train ourselves to pay attention. We feel the safest in our homes and so we should, but we still need to know what keeps ours homes in a safe condition. So, how can we train ourselves to be on top of things in the home and yet not become a worrywart? Well, the answer is to develop a system of strategies that will train you to keep a watchful eye on potential problems before they become a real danger. Even though one can never create an environment that is 100 percent safe, the odds can certainly be made to fall in the direction that creates a desirable security blanket. In your home there are many dangers lurking right under your nose. We must get into the investigative mode and hunt them down. I call this system KOPS (KONCENTRATE ON PREVENTION STRATEGIES). The focus here is on the word STRATEGIES. To strategize is to look for information that will give you a clue to possible future outcomes: such as, "if this is present now what might happen in the future?" So from here I will give you information that will make you aware of the potential situations that could lead to disastrous outcomes. I am going to give you information that will help you in this pursuit by pointing out things that just might slip through the cracks. I will point to things that you might already know but have allowed them to fade into the shadows of your mind. Don't feel bad we all at times do that. We get use to our surroundings and we see but don't see, if you get my drift.
