Who was this verse written about? Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. During the Great Tribulation a small band of Jews will be hold-up on Mount Zion in Jerusalem. While most of their countrymen have been captured or killed; this small band will stand as the last beacon of hope that God will restore their city and nation. The armies of their enemies will finally flood into the city. As the last few remaining Jews in Jerusalem pray for deliverance, salvation will come in their darkest hour. Jesus Christ will return to Mt. Zion to rescue them and to pour out his fury on the invading armies. This is the “Day of the LORD”. It will be a day of darkness and complete abolition for the enemies of Israel. When God the son judges you himself you are lost without remedy. The return of the Shekinah Glory to Jerusalem will safeguard its inhabitants. The Glory is returned! Emmanuel, God is with us at last! This book takes a verse by verse look at the trials of Israel during the seven year Tribulation period and follows Jesus Christ as he returns to defeat Israel’s enemies.
