The history and future of Davide and the human hybrids continues to unravel and at last, a name comes to prominence; a power behind Gencom and behind the genetic engineering that Davide and his people have endured. Thomas Sager is a name from both Davide’s and Angela McFerson’s past, and a man who may know about the Watchers. Some of Davide’s friends are confirmed dead and others including Mo and Rebkah are missing. Gencom, the company that has afflicted Davide’s people has been neutralised, but other parties have also been involved in their history. The Invaders had come to Earth long ago, searching for something and they helped force humanity to leave, only for humanity to fall into the hands of the Unword, one of the three great races. The great races, including the Ekkeera, are in contention, and the hybrids, themselves divided into three groups, are caught in the middle. Shadowy machines at the core of every galaxy in the cosmos outwork the great Ekkeeran programme; the same programme that drives forward the fate of Davide and his beleaguered people. Two teams race to find a key left behind for Davide by his murdered mother. One led by Angela McFerson dives into the multiple Earth shells that surround humanity’s homeworld. The other led by Cadis, and his former Admiral, penetrate a playground created by Davide to protect a keepsake, but all is not as it seems for Trannik cannot be who he says, for he died when Captain Runebecher was killed. And at last, two girls, Davide’s little sisters, Emily and Lila, have found a father figure for whom they had long sought. But they are in danger, for an assassin closely stalks their steps, one that can penetrate Control’s protective shield. It is on a sandy beach inside the event horizon of a black hole, that a revelation is unveiled; something is going to emerge through the singularities throughout the cosmos. The Ekkeeran programme is working towards a climax; a seemingly inexorable dawn.
