"IF YOU KNOW THE SONG, THAN YOU KNOW HOW THE WIND BLOWS"........."ALONG THE HUDSON RIVER.......It was a slowing pace, a scene of yesterdays. A place where something was complete different from the Big Apple, New York City. It was a quiet scene, almost like living in another world. It was a sentimental confusion for Carolyn, a deaf child in her early teens. She was raised in the City of New York, "Harlem", now she comes to a town of yesterday, "Hudson, New York. An upstate city, up above the mountains, near Catskill, New York. Where stories of the "Headless Horseman, and "Rip Van Winkle" were legends, and where celebrities spend their quiet vacations or livelihood. To her, at the age of fourthteen, Hudson was a mysterious place, as if the people there has changed. They were different from the people in New York City, It seems as if this town was a different world. Although the "City" was her home, where she was born and raised, she was confused, and she was afraid. "How would she adapt to a place that was so new to her?" Especially, since's she is deaf. Her friends were in New York, the ones whom she had grewed up with, and how can she make friends in this town called "Hudson", would they eventually accept her, as being deaf? She felt that she didn't have to prove anything to anyone.Although, while living in New York, her friends accepted her as she was, hearing aide and all. But will they accept her in this town called, "Hudson"? Carolyn wore a hearing aide and she spoke as well as she can read a person lips to know what they were saying, but she felt alone. Little did she know that Hudson was a town on its own and that it would have a greater affect on her as she lives the rest of her teenager years in a town called "Hudson, New York"
