This is a continuation of Guardian College THE DREAM Robert set around daydreaming these last few days wondering what he was going to do with his life. He knew he didn’t want to go to work at some meaningless job he would never get anywhere in. He was hoping that maybe he could be a good enough football player that he might get a college scholarship. The chances of that were remote because the school he went to was small and he lives in a small town. He was hoping to get into at least a college where he would be scouted for a pro team. If he could do that he could play till his knees gave out on him and he had to retire. That’s what every male dreams of. To do something you like until you retire. Robert knew this dream was going to be almost impossible but damn it he was going to try. As he lay in bed this night he finally fall asleep. As Robert went into his dream cycle it is not one of his usual run of the mill dreams. He dreamed it started out as just another day of school. He walked in not knowing what to expect because it seemed like every day lately brought something new and most of the time not a good thing for him. The monotony of it drove him crazy. Robert walked past a group of girls and some of the jocks from his team. Looking at them. He knew what they were talking about. The jocks were laying their smooth lines on the girls and the girls eating it up, nothing new just the same old BS. “I would like to walk in this school one morning when everyone was being themselves.” He said to himself. The hallways were packed as usual with everyone getting books out of their lockers and congregating in small groups. Even though Robert was on the football team he tried not to discuss any of his conquest with them and beside that he was mostly antisocial. What went on between a girl and him stayed with him not that there that many girls in his life. It was usually a cheerleader that went out with him just to say they were dating a football player. When Robert walked in his first class the room was empty except for girls dressed in long cloaks and hoods. Their eyes were sunk in their head and they were glowing bright red. As Robert looked at them they started smiling and crooking their finger at him. As he watched fangs pope out of their mouths with blood on them. That was enough for Robert. He knew he had to get the hell out of there right now. He turned on the ball of his feet and took off running. No matter how fast he ran though he couldn’t get away from them. One of these monsters put their hand on his shoulder. He dreamed he woke up screaming. “What the hell was that all about?” He thought to himself as he sprang up in his bed wide awake and shaking.
