Happily Never After: A 20-Something's Guide to Breaking Up, Looking for Love, and Surviving Singledom in the Modern Age of Dating (Watch my book pitch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC7QvyqUKXQ&feature=youtu.be) Once upon a time, there was a Princess named Britany. One day, as Britany strolled down the halls of her high school, she suddenly collided with a big, muscular man. Gazing into each other’s eyes, it was love at first sight, and the two immediately started dating. Prince Charming went off to college to play college sports that next year, Princess Britany, to dance and study education. The two would parade around campus together, hand in hand, so much in love. The plan was to graduate, get a job, and soon after, get married. One week, Prince Charming went off to a job interview, came home, and…. …., that was the end of THAT love story. (In case you were wondering, I am Britany) A little over a year ago, my boyfriend of six years randomly called me up on the phone one night, and dumped me. Shocked, confused, and realizing I knew nothing about dating in the modern world, I was spurred into a research project. So, I interviewed the young, the old, the single, the wedded, the divorced. I traveled to places I’d never been, applied to graduate school, attended yoga classes and counseling sessions. And, I compiled all of this wisdom into the book I call, “Happily Never After: A 20-Something’s Guide to Breaking Up, Looking for Love, and Surviving Single-dom in the Modern Age of Dating”. Now, there really isn’t anything too special about me. I live in surbubia, attempt to teach high school English, and spend the weekends hanging out with my dogs. No, I don’t have a pHD in relationships. No, I haven’t spoken at some world-renowned TedTalk. My breakup wasn’t some high profile one like you see with The Bachelor. But, what I can tell you is that I am an average 20-Something, writing about average 20-Something experiences. The book covers topics, such as how to heal from a breakup, how to tackle an identity crisis, and how to begin prepping for a new and improved "Prince Charming". The Experts say: "Britany Ederveen’s Happily Never After seems at first glance a 20-Something’s guide to breakup survival, but it is so much more than that. Her lively and engaging storytelling appeals to those of all ages who have found themselves floundering in the face of a breakup. Ederveen has a remarkable ability to reveal her vulnerabilities and to undergo some serious introspection and growth while simultaneously finding the strength to move forward with determination and grace. Her voice is honest, ebullient, witty, and hopeful. In all, Happily Never After is a delightful read!" -Julie Whitman-Zai, Editor
