Blessed (or cursed) with a sharp memory, here are one woman’s recollections of her life from the age of three to seventy-eight. Born in London, England, during the Great Depression and bombed by Hitler’s Luftwaffe during World War II, at the age of seven she was evacuated by a submarine-shadowed military convoy to South Africa. She was a G.I. bride, who became an American citizen and gave birth to a son on the 4th of July. Her detailed narrative takes the reader around the globe giving glimpses of her life in the Women’s Royal Air Force, and her survival of the great 1964 Alaska earthquake. She shares her battles with breast cancer and her experiences while living for four years in the cradle of Islam - Saudi Arabia.
