After many years of inactivity a pianist reluctantly takes on a job of working with a resident band on a cruise ship. On board he meets his fellow band members. Ollie, the trombone player and a raging alcoholic. Sly, a sax player with more mood swings than a pubescent post-natal mother. Jackoff, a gruff Hungarian bass player. Dick on drums, the bandleader, also a reforming alcoholic and Pepé a French guitarist with an anger management problem. Disagreements, cracks and conflicts soon begin to happen within the band and the cocktail of different egos ensures that there is never a dull moment. What he thought would be a jolly, sun-kissed Mediterranean cruise and an easy way of making money soon turns into his worst nightmare. Things get so bad that he resorts to asking the Greek gods of mythology to help him out of the many hair-raising and bizarre predicaments that he finds himself in.Highly original and wonderfully funny, this is a story rich in character, adventure and incident, blending reality with fantasy and giving a revealing insight into the strange and often beguiling world of the musician.
