The purpose of this Code of Practice is to promote good practice in the selection, administration and interpretation of occupational and psychometric tests which are being used across the Authority. The Code of Practice applies to all staff. Such tests can be a valuable aid as part of the recruitment and selection process. Tests must be used only to identify candidates abilities to fulfil the duties of the post. Both staff who are qualified in Occupational Testing, and Managers have a duty to comply with the guidance in this Code of Practice, failure to do so could lead to disciplinary action being taken.
