Digital Citizenship is an important concept for students to understand so that they know to use technology appropriately. Elementary school students today use technology often and, as their maturity and judgement is still developing, they need parental as well as teacher guidance to help them make the right choices. The Elementary years are a good time to build healthy safe habits, and a respect for digital rights and responsibilities. This book explains ASB’s Digital Citizenship Program, which is based on the ISTE Standards for Students and the Nine Elements of Digital Citizenship. These are integrated into the units of inquiry studied throughout the Elementary School so that students establish good habits of healthy, respectful and purposeful computer use, and come to understand what it means to be a good digital citizen. The book contains sections on what parents can do to support digital citizenship, and guidance for technology use at home.
