‘Never judge a book by its cover’ is an often used adage to ensure that how we perceive persons appearance may not give a very clear picture of a individual’s background, integrity or ability to sing karaoke. To complicate things even further our senses are bombarded daily by a range of sounds, smell and messages that require us to make split-second decisions. Some of this information such as adverts; we may choose to unintentionally listen/act upon, others such as party political broadcasts we may elect to instantly ignore.
