For a young Teach for America graduate, Joe Savino has landed the perfect job – or so he thinks. The Latin School of Washington, D.C. is a public charter school with a classical curriculum and a social mission and which has, after just one year, generated the city’s highest test scores. The school’s founder, R.J. Peterson, is larger-than-life – blue Jaguar, expensive suits, bold ideas – but controversial.
