Memoirs of legendary bandleader/musician/promoter, Peck Rowell, whose Covered Wagon Boys were the best-known band in the area for years, having played at The Wagon Wheel in Opelika, AL, for most of the 1950's. Then, Rowell owned and performed at his Blue Creek Club on beautiful Lake Martin for over 20 years, booking most all the big name country acts of that era including George Jones, Ray Price, Mel Tillis, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Paycheck, Mel Street, Jack Greene and many others. Although he loved Nashville's music, he was unable to leave the east central Alabama area he was raised in. Rowell offers a snapshot of life in the post WW11south and the music that area of the country loved most - country music.
