After a great life of raising her children and being involved with her husband, Dick, in their veterinary practice, she is able to finally get another horse when she and her husband buy a little farm. Wonderful years go by as houses are remodled, gardens build and all of her children produce a total of eleven grandchildren, many of which life on the hill with them or nearby. She experiences the thrill of showing and winning with her horses and several sad moments as well. Unable to handle the long, cold Wisconsin winters, she talks Dick into moving to Oregon, leaving behind family and horses, gardens and veterinary medicine. What a heartwrenching decision. In Oregon, a new life with mountains, hiking and skiing, new gardens and finally, new horses, but then the loss of her husband. Now she has returned to her early years, when her main friends were her animals: a horse, two dogs and her cat, Monet. A great ending to a three part story of her life.
