In Vienna, decades after the Holocaust, Adam Penn finds a photograph of a young SS officer with his arms around a pious Jew. Intrigued and helped by beautiful Anna, Adam follows a vague spoor to Venice, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and finally to a kibbutz where they find the Nazi. But he has been honoured for saving death camp lives! Something is wrong! After violence and combat, the story reaches a startling climax.
