On September 27, 1998, Nick Dennen was a normal twenty-year-old college athlete. When he fell thirty-five feet into a creek, he sustained a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for several weeks. Doctors told his family that death was probably near, and if he did survive, a full recovery would be impossible. Despite those opinions, Nick did relearn to walk and talk again after a two-year recovery that tested his family’s fortitude. The retelling of Nick's brave recovery brings the realization that crises don’t happen to individuals, they happen to everyone who loves that individual. Crises challenge faith. But within a crisis, love brings hope. And through love and hope, one can see that possibilities are everywhere.
