This book offers both insight into the mechanics of the Games Design Industry, and personal advice on designing your own projects. This book explains the production pipeline for characters in large projects; the theory of characterization; writing characters that work well in a game. It also plunges into some practical aspects such as the basics of character illustration and creating orthographic image planes for 3d reference. Even still, this book is not intended as an in depth tutorial on a specific task, but rather an overview or introduction to the topic of character design.
