Three little white sheep want to be unique as Shelby, the black sheep. Shelby suggests that they choose a color of their own by jumping into paint buckets and letting the colors mix. Her friends agree, but, for different reasons, none of them are happy with the results. Shelby then recommends mixing in the color they're missing, to get a really dark brown. The book teaches children to mix colors from their three different combinations. It also shows that being unique is not as easy that is cracked up to be, and true uniqueness is achieved from the inside, on the road to finding your own happy color. A rhyming tale and perfect play along to teach children color mixing.
