Jodi Arias seduced Travis Alexander the moment they met at the convention in Las Vegas. She used her eyes, her smile, and flirted with Travis. He took the bait and called her. During the course of their relationship Jodi used her sex appeal and manipulation to control Travis. When she could no longer control Travis she murdered him. Many people during the course of the Trial have discussed Jodi’s “creepy eyes” or her “provocative sexual energy” and how her gaze made them feel uncomfortable. Jodi used the intensity of her eyes to seduce Travis. She also used her eyes to keep people at a distance. Jodi’s intensity, creative ability, and verbal articulation allowed her to manipulate and to control her environment. She sensed a need in Travis Alexander and she changed her personality to fulfill his need. She led him down a path of intense sexual desire. Eventually Travis realized that he was with the wrong woman and tried to break free. Jodi would have none of that! This paper will be divided into 3 sections: 1) Jodi’s ability to seduce 2) Her use of manipulation to control 3) Her sociopathic nature which led her to kill Travis Alexander It is my contention that Jodi Arias knew exactly what she was doing when she seduced Travis Alexander. His weakness was her sexual hold on him – her source of control. Although she may appear to be a quiet unassuming individual, Jodi Arias has exhibited a strong undercurrent of very forceful and controlling behavior.
